You may be wondering how to say my name…
Hi! I am Kinome. Pronounced KIN-no-ME, rhymes with bologna. Its origin is a bit more fancy! My parents were true Bohemians, doing yoga and eating a macrobiotic diet in the 70s and 80s. They found my name in a cookbook for Japanese cuisine. It is a small green leaf used in Japanese recipes, and it also means ‘the first bud of spring’. I was my parents first child, so of course they thought it was a good fit. My sisters are named Anna and Elizabeth…… go figure!
I am known for my meticulous foil work and love finding the perfect style for each individual. I only take one client at a time in my salon studio, so I can focus on each service without any distractions. As a busy mom of two, I know how important making time for self care is, but still being able to fit it in my crazy schedule. I have developed services that get the best results with minimal time in the salon, mini maintenance appointments keep your look fresh. You can close your eyes and enjoy the quiet, or chat with me while your color processes. My favorite part about being a hair stylist are the relationships I have with my clients, and making them feel pretty each time I see them! Almost half of my current clientele has been with me for at least 10 years, some even longer!
I custom create each look for each individual. I only think trends are cool if they look good on you! I am into making each person feel happy with their cut and color. I take the time to teach important hair skills and hope you leave the salon knowing more than when you came in. I have also spent countless hours learning about cosmetic chemistry so I truly understand the products I use everyday. I am known for breaking down ingredients and products for clients, busting thru the current trends of fear based marketing. I want my clients to be able to make informed choices about the products they use.
I grew up in Dallas, but now I live in Plano with my family and two sweet pit bulls. I keep busy outside of the salon keeping up with my kids activities - my son plays hockey and my daughter does competitive dance. When I am not shuttling them around, you will find me drinking coffee, cooking, reading or loving all the houseplants I have collected.
I look forward to meeting you!
